A two-minute tour

How Mive works

Install once on your PC, then reach your files from anywhere. Here's the whole thing — screen by screen, no mockups.

Install Mive on your PC

One installer turns your PC into your private drive. It comes online on its own, and you just pick the folders it can see.

The Mive app on My computer with no folders yet: an Add a folder button and a prompt to add a folder from this PC to make it available on all your devices.

The folders you pick are your drive

Whatever sits in those folders on your PC is exactly what you see in Mive — same files, same names. It's your own disk, reachable from anywhere.

The folders you add on your disk are your drive — here, one called “Just a PC Folder”, the very same files.

Reach it from anywhere

Open your drive from your phone or the web. The files are the same ones, served live off your PC — photos, documents, video.

Share by link, or with one person

Send a link anyone can open — no account needed — or share a single file or a whole folder with someone as Viewer or Editor. You stay in control and can revoke access any time.

They just click

How they open it depends on how you shared: a link anyone can use opens the file or folder straight away — no account, no app. Share with someone who's on Mive, and it lands in their Shared with me, ready to open live from your PC.

Add files and preview, anywhere

Import a file or make a new folder from any device, and preview photos, PDFs and video right inside the app.

Good to know

  • Mive can only ever reach the folders you pick — the rest of your PC stays invisible, enforced by your operating system.
  • Reachable whenever your PC is on and awake — like a home server.
  • Free — your PC does the work, so there's almost nothing to host.
  • People you share with never need an account.
